DEPARTMENTAL TOBACCO PRODUCT PROHIBITION

RESPONSIBILITY

All supervisors are responsible for enforcing the requirements of this regulation.

All staff and volunteers are responsible for complying with this regulation.

All guests and visitors are responsible for complying with this regulation.

115.01 TOBACCO PRODUCTS

1. Effective July 1, 2009, possession or use of any tobacco products on Department grounds will be prohibited.

A. Use of tobacco products will not be allowed on the grounds of any Department location to include:  Central Administration building or vehicles.

B. Sales of any and all tobacco products will be prohibited.

C. Inmates working at outside facilities must comply with Department as well as other agency tobacco products prohibitions.

2. Violation of the Department’s tobacco products prohibition may result in disciplinary action.

A. Inmates are subject to AR 707 Inmate Disciplinary Process.

B. Departmental staff are subject to progressive discipline.

C.  Guests or visitors are subject to restricted access to institutions and facilities.

115.02 APPLICABILITY

1.  This Administrative Regulation does not require an audit.
