Outer views of LCC Prison Industries

The Prison Industries building complex is comprised of two buildings each containing two rooms of 10,000 square feet.  The entire Prison Industries complex is 40,000 square feet.  Currently Somerset Industries utilizes one building or 20,000 square feet.  The other building is evenly split by the Wood Shop/Vocational Wood Shop Program and Silver State Industries' garment shop.

Prison Industries Mission Statement

To provide a viable work experience for offenders which fosters self-improvement, develops self-esteem, and instills sound work ethics, while minimizing idleness and providing a mutually beneficail initiative incorporating both Nevada Department of Corrections offender programming goals and those which serve the best interests of private enterprise.  The commitment in both providing its qualified offenders post-release transitional opportunities and establishing teaming agreements with private industry is paramount for establishing a successful Prison Industries program.
