Goals
The Department will:
- Provide a diverse and
comprehensive system of programs to meet all offender needs, making use of
governmental and community partnerships.
- Establish a program of
reintegration to successfully return the offender to the community involving:
- Treatment
- Housing
- Employment
- Transportation; and
- Family reunification
- Operate a system of information
on which to base executive and legislative decisions.
- Facilitate a victims assistance
component that furnishes information, notification, restitution, and programs.
- Recruit, train, and retain
qualified staff through appropriate qualification requirements, testing,
training, and evaluation.
- Operate a system of inmate
management that uses an integrated approach to discipline, housing, privileges,
and property that teaches offenders that they are accountable for their conduct.
